This Privacy Policy describes how Base Arena (“we,” “our,” or “the Service”) handles information in connection with the website base-arena.online and the game running on the Base blockchain.

1. Data We Do Not Collect on Our Servers

We do not operate a backend database that stores your personal data. We do not collect your name, email, or password. Wallet private keys never leave your device and are never sent to us.

2. Data Stored in Your Browser (localStorage)

To provide the game experience, the website may store the following in your browser’s local storage:

Character name and avatar choice (for display until you connect a wallet; may be synced to the blockchain)
Onboarding completion flag
Temporary battle data (e.g. nonce, move choices) for commit/reveal flows

This data stays on your device. You can clear it at any time via your browser settings or the in-game “Start over” option (where available).

3. Blockchain and Wallet Data

When you connect a wallet (e.g. MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet), the wallet may expose your public address and chain to the website so we can read contract state and suggest transactions. We do not log or store your address on our servers. On-chain data (e.g. wins, level, items) is public on the Base blockchain and can be read by anyone via block explorers (e.g. Basescan).

4. Third-Party Services

The Service uses or may use:

Base network / RPC providers: Transactions and contract reads go through Base and public or third-party RPC endpoints. Their privacy practices apply to network-level data.
Hosting (e.g. Vercel): The site may be hosted on Vercel or similar. Standard request logs (IP, URL, user agent) may be collected by the host according to their privacy policy.
Wallet providers: When you connect a wallet, its extension or app may have its own data practices. We do not control them.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We do not set cookies for tracking or advertising. The site may rely on local storage (see above) for game state. If our hosting or analytics change in the future, we will update this policy.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we do not maintain a server-side database of users, most “personal data” is either on your device (local storage) or on the public blockchain. You can clear local storage yourself; blockchain data is immutable and not controlled by us.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has used the Service, contact us through the official channels so we can address it.

8. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
